Exciting Update: Optimyst Appliances Now Approved for Permanent Plumbing!
This update marks a significant milestone in making the Optimyst range even more convenient and user-friendly. Let’s dive into the key highlights of this exciting development:
- Official Approval:
The Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) has conducted a thorough risk assessment and has granted an exemption from the Watermark certification for the Optimyst product category. This means the Optimyst range (CAS500 and CAS1000) is now officially approved for permanent plumbing without the need for the Watermark certification, which is typically required for products that connect to mains water. - Permanent Plumbing Made Possible:
What does this mean? You can now supply mains water directly to Optimyst appliances. This new approval allows for the integration of these appliances into permanent plumbing systems, provided the connection is made according to the AS/NZS3500.1 plumbing standards by a licensed plumber. - Included Plumbing Kit for Easy Installation:
To make installation as straightforward as possible, each Optimyst appliance now comes with a complete plumbing kit. This kit includes everything you need to ensure a smooth installation.

Why This Update Matters:
This approval is a game-changer, by allowing permanent plumbing, Optimyst appliances can now be integrated into home and commercial plumbing systems with greater ease and flexibility. Whether it’s for new builds, renovations, or even upgrades to existing systems, this approval simplifies the installation process, cuts down on the time of setup and maintenance, and enhances the overall customer experience.
The Optimyst range has now been officially listed on the WaterMark Schedule of Excluded Products. This makes it easier for anyone in the industry to access relevant information regarding the product's certification status and approved plumbing requirements.
